Let the University Libraries help you succeed throughout the semester and as you gear up for finals.

Swing by our various events that are designed to show you the many different ways we can help you throughout the semester and as you prepare to become a Finals Boss.

The following schedule lists the times, dates and locations of events at the libraries. Come learn, eat snacks and get free stuff.

 

Grand Opening of Our New Spaces: March 20 • 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Second floor of Evans Library and the fourth floor of the Evans Annex

Come take a look at our new and renovated spaces at Evans Library! We added more outlets and different styles of chairs and desk to accommodate you while you relax or study. Snacks and swag provided.

Find Your Book: March 21–22 • 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Fourth floor by the skywalk of Evans Library

Don't know how to find your book? Let the Shelving Unit show you how to use the MapIt! Feature to locate library materials. Snacks and swag included.

Meet Your Librarian: March 26 & April 3 • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
West Campus Library Lobby

West Campus Library will have tables with information and students will have the opportunity to “Meet Your Librarian”, learn more about AskUs services, and speak with a couple of consultants from the Writing Center. Snacks and swag included.

Get It for Me: April 5 • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Evans Library Main Lobby

Our staff will provide you with information about our Get It for Me service and give you the best ‘Tips For Success’ so you can get what you need, when you need it for those final exams. There will be a game with candy prizes and free swag to give away.

Coffee with a Librarian: April 11 • 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Look Reading Room on the first floor of Evans Library

Chat with your subject librarian at this come-and-go event to learn how they can assist with your information and research needs.  Snacks and swag included.

Snack and Chat: April 11 • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Lobby of Medical Sciences Library and HPEB Library

The MSL staff will give out frozen treats and swag and talk to patrons about library services such as one-on-one consultations, subject librarians, the systematic reviews service and Get It for Me and our Interlibrary loan service.

Discover Maps & GIS: April 18 • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Evans Library—Room 207

Maps & GIS will highlight the digital and physical collections available. The first 250 students who stop by the new Maps & GIS space on the 2nd floor of Evans Library will receive a flash drive with one of our most popular datasets preloaded on it and the first 100 students will receive a reproduction of the 1990 cartoon map of the Texas A&M University campus.

Final Paper Frenzy with the University Writing Center: April 22–23 • 5 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Evans Library—Room 202

The Final Paper Frenzy is an undergraduate writing retreat that provides a quiet place to write along with free coffee, free snacks, and free writing help from the writing center’s trained consultants. Don’t write alone! For more information (and to reserve your space!) visit writingcenter.tamu.edu.

 

BTHO Finals: Will take place during finals.
All Libraries

Pets with a Purpose:

The libraries will be sponsoring the always popular pet therapy dogs from APWAP — a non-profit volunteer organization that provides trained animals for educational, rehabilitative and emotional assistance purposes.

Random Snacks of Kindness:

Handing out water and snacks throughout finals.

Stress Busters:

The Stress Buster Station will feature a creative activities table for students to take a study break while enjoying games, coloring, puzzles, Legos, and more.
