Borrow books directly from participating libraries.

What is TexShare?

  • TexShare is a reciprocal borrowing program.
  • TAMU faculty/staff/students can check out materials from participating institutions.
  • Checkout is not done through deliverEdocs (interlibrary loan).
    You must to go into the library to get the materials.

Who is eligible?

  • TAMU College Station faculty, staff and students.
  • TAMU Health Science Center faculty, staff, students, and residents.

What does it cost?

  • TexShare is a free service.
  • You are responsible for late fees, fines, or damage charges.

MSL TexShare Card Applications

  • To obtain a card you must provide proof of identification to the staff at the Client Services Desk.
    HSC distance faculty, staff, students and residents may fax a copy of their ID and the signed TexShare Application.

When does my MSL TexShare card expire?

  • Faculty, staff, and resident cards expire at the end of the current fiscal year (August 31).
  • Student cards expire at the end of the current semester.

Card Holder Responsibilities

  • By participating, you agree to return materials to the library they were check out from in person or by other methods outline by the library's lending policy.
  • You agree to be responsible for any charges for late, damaged, or lost materials.

Patrons Checking Out MSL Items

  • MSL checks out materials to holders of TexShare cards, please see our loan periods.
  • MSL does not do Interlibrary Loan or Document Delivery, or give access to electronic resources outside the library to TexShare card holders.
  • Reserves, reference materials, and journals cannot be checked out.
  • Valid Texas ID, valid TexShare card, and a current MSL library card must be presented when materials are checked out.

  • The borrower will be responsible for any charges for late, damaged, or lost materials.
  • Borrowed items must be returned to MSL, not you home institution's library.
  • Privileges will be suspended for failure to return recalls by the due date or failure to pay billed charges.
