Study Rooms

Purpose:  To optimize the use of the group and individual study rooms while preserving the ability of Medical Sciences Library's primary clientele to reserve rooms.

Rooms:
  • 6 Individual rooms (1 person only)
  • 5 rooms (2 - 4 people)
  • 3 rooms (2 - 8 people)
  • 1 room (4 - 10 people)
  • Studio 204 presentation practice room
    Large LCD display
    Podium
    Digital camcorder and tripod to record presentations
    Computer with editing software
Reservations:
  • Faculty, staff, graduate and professional students from COALS, CVM, and HSC can reserve rooms.
  • Reserve up to 24 hours in advance.
  • The person making the reservation must be the person checking out the key.
  • Reservations will only be held for 15 minutes.

Checking out a room:
  • Key check out is only required when the CVM and College of Medicine are in session.
    During the summer, rooms are open and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Group rooms require 2 individuals to be present when the key is checked out.
  • Single rooms may be occupied by ONLY 1 individual.
    Group rooms must be occupied by at least 2 individuals.
  • Use of study rooms is limited to a 4 hours check out period.
  • Rooms may be checked out again if no one is waiting.

General Policies: 
  • Study rooms are available for use by all TAMU faculty, staff, and students.
  • Study room keys may not leave the library.
  • Return the key to the front desk at the end of your check out period.
    Repeated failure to return the study room key at the time the room is due may result in a loss of study room privileges for the semester.
  • If the room is empty for more than 15 minutes, the key must be returned to the Client Services Desk.
While in the room:
  • Tobacco products are not permitted.
  • NOTHING IS PERMITTED ON THE WALLS OR THE WINDOWS.
  • No personal electric cooling or heating devices are allowed in the rooms.
  • Please report climate issue to the Client Services Desk.
  • If you find the room damaged or littered with trash, report the problem to the Client Services Desk immediately to avoid liability.
When you leave the room:
  • Remove all your belongings and throw away any trash.
  • Erase the dry erase boards.
  • Be sure the door is locked and return the key to the Client Services Desk.
  • Replacement cost for a lost key is $10.00 with a $25.00 processing fee.
